The principles below describe how PDS Energy systems are designed to receive, protect and use the utility information customers choose to authorize.
Separation of utility authentication from PDS
When using supported utility authorization flows, utility credentials are entered with the utility — not with PDS. PDS does not ask for or store utility usernames or passwords.
Data minimization
PDS is designed to request and retain only the data needed to support the electricity analysis a customer has asked for.
Secure connections
The website and PDS data exchanges are designed to use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Restricted access
Access to customer energy data is designed to be limited to personnel and systems that require it to deliver PDS Energy services.
Protection of sensitive credentials
Production integration credentials and configuration are designed to remain in PDS-controlled infrastructure and are not placed in website code.
Responsible data handling
Customer energy data is used to support the electricity analysis that customer has requested. PDS does not sell customer utility data.
