Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Precision Data Systems, Inc. (“PDS,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with this website and with the PDS Energy services. PDS Energy is a business of Precision Data Systems, Inc.

This policy distinguishes between two different categories of information: information you provide to us through the website or ordinary business contact, and utility data that we obtain only when you authorize it.

Information you provide

If you contact us by email or telephone, or provide information in the course of discussing services, we receive the information you choose to give us. This typically includes your name, organization, role, email address, telephone number and the details of your inquiry or facilities.

This website does not currently include a functional contact form that submits or stores data.

Authorized utility data

Where a supported utility authorization flow is available, you may authorize your utility to provide specified utility data to PDS. In that flow, you authenticate directly with your utility and grant the authorization within the utility's own environment. PDS does not ask for or store your utility username or password.

Authorized utility data may include account and service point identifiers, interval or billing usage data, demand data and related billing information, as approved by you and made available by the utility.

Purpose of collection

We collect information to respond to inquiries, to provide and support PDS Energy services, and to perform the energy, demand and cost analysis that a customer has requested.

How information is used

Information you provide is used for business communication, proposals and service delivery. Authorized utility data is used to produce energy-use, demand and cost analysis and related reporting for the customer who authorized it.

We do not sell customer utility data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data sharing

We do not share customer information or authorized utility data with third parties except: with the customer and persons the customer designates; with service providers acting on our behalf as described below; where required by law or valid legal process; or to protect our rights, security or property.

Service providers

We use third-party providers for functions such as website hosting, cloud infrastructure, email and data processing. These providers receive information only as needed to perform those functions on our behalf.

Security practices

PDS systems are designed to use encrypted connections, to limit access to personnel and systems that require it, and to keep production integration credentials within PDS-controlled infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and this policy does not claim any certification or compliance status.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to support an ongoing customer relationship, and to meet legitimate business or recordkeeping needs. Customers may request information about retention or deletion of their data by contacting us.

Customer authorization and revocation

Utility data access depends on your authorization. You may revoke a utility data authorization through your utility's authorization environment, and you may also contact PDS to request that we discontinue use of previously received data. Revocation stops future data delivery; it does not by itself alter analysis already produced.

Cookies and website analytics

This website is designed to operate without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Hosting providers may record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested for security and basic traffic measurement. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated.

Children's information

This website and the PDS Energy services are intended for organizations and business contacts, and are not directed to children.

We may update this policy as our services develop. The effective date below reflects the most recent version, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
